About Us

Each of our former pastors has contributed to our growth as a community, helping us spread the Lord's message. One pastor expanded the church and purchased our existing lot. After he retired, the following minister led our congregation for 26 years. Our founding pastor has passed away, but the two previous pastors are still active in the church. Now, our new pastor wishes to expand the church further by soon offering youth and marriage counseling to those in need of answers.

Who We Are

For nearly 80 years, Rising Sun Baptist Church has been a spiritual home for seekers in Baltimore, Maryland. Our fourth pastor, Reverend Dennis White, began leading church services in October 2015 and joins a congregation that traces its roots back to the early 1940s.

What We Believe

Joining a church can mean many things to many people. Some seek out God and community when they feel they have lost their way, or are seeking a deeper purpose, or are looking for a way to connect to their family and cultural identity. But it is our belief that the Church, at its core, is about finding love and beauty through God and God’s work.

At Rising Sun Baptist Church, we inspire individuals of all ages and backgrounds to bring the Lord Almighty into their lives at every moment - moments of joy, moments of despair, and even those moments in between. We are committed to the teachings of Jesus Christ, and are here to spread His message with loving patience and kindness.
